Baseball has been played in the USA for over 150 years. The game has evolved and continues to evolve. There are global events like WWII and the COVID pandemic that interrupt normal baseball activities. When those events run their course the players must retrain to continue to play and those new to the game will be behind in their development to play the game. For the most part their development time is just lost and will never be recovered.
Regardless of the global events that interrupt baseball player development, when a youth baseball player enters high school and does not have the basic skills needed to play at the high school level – well something is wrong in the development system for baseball players.
We believe that baseball players can develop faster and better by utilizing physical development and Baseball IQ training at an earlier age. And that coaches should not only know how to develop their players but be accountable for doing such. And aspiring players need to put in the work and be accountable for their development as well. For youth players who have not had any responsibility for their life the job falls to the parents. Parents of the youth players need to ensure that their player knows what he is responsible for while providing the necessary support to allow him to develop his skills as a player.
The book covers the basic and necessary skill and physical requirements for all positions of a baseball team. Including a discussion of position skills, physical development, required Baseball IQ, and teamwork for each position of the team. In addition, we explain the technical aspects of “mechanics” as it relates to baseball activities.
The reader will come away with a different perspective about baseball and a better understanding of the technical aspects of the game. Anyone who enjoys baseball – playing, watching, coaching or a parent will understand and enjoy the game better with a “High Baseball IQ” and we guarantee you it will be high when you have absorbed the material contained in the book.
